There was some interest around my latest blanket knitted to this pattern, so I decided to put this guide together.
I first knitted this baby shawl in 2009 for my baby and since then I made quite a few of them in various colours and fibres for my Etsy shop.
The best yarn to showcase this pattern I found is King Cole Cotton Bamboo DK because of its softness and drape. The pattern will work with other yarns as well, however stitches made with natural fibres really open up after wet blocking.
Being 8 row repeat you can work it as long and as wide as you require. For my blankets pictured here I had 3 balls of King Cole Cotton Bamboo DK, with approximately 2.2 balls used for the main part. The rest of yarn is used to knit the border which is then sewn on. Once washed and blocked the blankets measure approx. 65x85cm, so this gives you an idea of the finished size you can get with 3 balls of this yarn.
I offer this guide as a free downloadable pdf for personal use and not your commercial gains.
