This pattern is for a pair of lace socks. The lace itself is a true lace that’s just perfect for socks, as it has a dimensional look to it. The stitch itself comes to us from Scotland. There’s enough “give” to make them comfortable: they will hug your ankle/leg without being too tight. The unusual lace work is fun to knit as well as interesting to look at and wear. The back and front are the same until the heel flap.

Because you are knitting a true lace in a sock, the needle size is one size smaller than my usual socks to give you a perfect fit.

Skill Level: Beginner + - Intermediate (assuming a basic knowledge of knitting and purling, lace knitting and cabling).

The lace stitch is both charted and written out. Both the written out section and the chart section are very easy.

This pattern is written for 2 circular needles and is written for sizes Small, Medium, Large and Extra Large, and is sized by gauge (if you want to adjust your size from M, be sure to adjust your yarn so it matches your new needle size). MOST women wear socks in size M (shoe size 6 - 9)
