Lace Karius for the Loom
This pattern is one of eight from the e-book “Little Scarves: Baktus and Karius for the Loom”. This simple lace scarf has columns of Shetland lace accenting an e-wrap knit stockinette background. The lightweight yarn gives the stockinette and lace an airy and open fabric.
Loom: The pattern is written for three loom gauges. The peg numbers below are suggested, but directions are included for varying your scarf size.
5/8 inch = 28 pegs
½ inch = 32 pegs
3/8 inch = 36 pegs
Yarn: photo samples were made with Twisted Sister’s Oracle in Confetti Calendula, a fingering weight yarn made of 60/40 merino wool/bamboo, and Lisa Souza’s Hardtwist Merino in delft, a sport weight merino wool. The amounts below are suggested:
Lace = 225 yards
Fingering = 200 yards
DK = 185 yards
Worsted = 160 yards
Bulky = 145 yards
Lighter weight yarns are recommended for this pattern.
The e-book comes with two files. One is a large print 24 point font, and the other is a 12 point font paper-saver file. The book includes 8 patterns, as well as information on variations for your Lace Karius and a photo gallery.
My patterns are low vision and screen reader accessible. The text is black, Arial and large print 24 point font. All of the directions are fully written out and no charts are relied on to complete the patterns. No italics are used. They are screen reader and tablet friendly.
