The Power Hat was created for a beautiful friend to help her express herself through her healing path.
It is reversible, and can be worn lace brim down as a slouchy hat, or brim up. As such it can be worn 4 ways (if you’re careful threading in your ends).
The pattern allows for making in two sizes, the smaller hat is more suited to when/if your friend looses their hair (head circumference will be smaller).
You will need 2 x 50g balls of soft merino, 4.5mm small circular needle or dpns to cast on (allows a little more stretch), and 4mm to knit the rest of the hat.
You can choose to use a complementary or contrasting colour for the brim, or you could create a rainbow with many colours. I recommend a plain colour for the lace so that it can be seen (variegated tends to hide it somewhat).
The lace work is my own creation that came about because of omitting some of a known lace pattern. I almost pulled it out, but have decided that I really like it, and so does my friend.
Happy knitting everyone
