Lace Shawl Trio
These small shawls were designed to show off the beauty of semi-solid and multi-color sock yarns. They are knit from the curved bottom up in a shallow triangular shape, and a narrow band of garter stitch borders the three tiny stockinette stitch lace patterns.
Spider is an Icelandic lace bordered by 8 holes. It repeats over 6 stitches and 4 rows. Lattice lace also is Icelandic and repeats over 3 stitches and 2 rows. Acorn lace is a variation of Spider and repeats over 6 stitches and 4 rows. All are easy to memorize and create a versatile accessory that also is easy to wear.
The size can be customized for a smaller scarf or wider wrap since the top border can be started at the beginning of any right-side row.
Designed for fingering weight (16–17 wpi) yarns, these small shawls also can be knit in a variety of handspun and commercial lace, Sheltland, sport, and DK weight yarns.
Lace can be knit from written instructions or charts.
