This hat is knit flat and then seamed. The pattern can easily be converted to “in the round” if you are so inclined. Generally, this pattern yields a pretty small hat - given your yarn and gauge, of course - so definitely swatch first. Add another repeat or two of the pattern stitches for a medium or large sized hat.
