Lacebark
Lacebark is a lacy asymmetrical triangle that traces the developing skills of the lace knitter. It begins with a simple stocking stitch point and moves onto an easy repeating lace section as the piece grows wider. The lace motifs gradually develop into a more complex motif and ends with an elaborate lace border with pretty picots. One edge of the shawl is embellished with serrations, like a lacebark leaf.
I used 600 metres of Knitsch Merino Sock in Silver Lining with 4mm / US6 needles.
Please note that 3 out of 7 of my pattern testers used approximately 100 metres more yarn than I did (this is unusual - most people use less yarn than me!). So if you substitute yarn or have a loose knitting technique, you may require up to 700 metres of yarn. I know this is a huge range, but I think it best to let people know in advance that they may need to have access to additional yarn.
