Laced Cable Cowl
This is a FAUX CABLED design for bulky machines and requires a ribber. The ‘cable“ is astonishingly easy.
VIDEO HELP
The video that will be the most help to you is a new one called Laced Cables which covers machine setups for the fabric as well as lacing up the cables. You may also want to watch Half Fisherman’s Rib which shows how to work the stitch on many machines. If you are a beginner and need help with basics such as casting on and binding off, my other videos are all indexed on my website for easy access.
YARN, GAUGE, SIZE AND MACHINE
This design is for bulky machines with ribbers. It will work either on a Brother or Singer/Studio/Silver Reed machine. 2 sizes are given. The first fits big girls to small adult women, the second is for medium to large ladies heads or wearers with more hair. 4-6 oz. of worsted weight #4 yarn is required. Gauge in the half fisherman’s rib is 6 stitches/7.75 rows/inch. The finished cowl is approximately 1820.5” in circumference. It is slightly adjustable because of the buckle closure. You may alter the length if desired. Do so by increments of 8 rows.
