A lacework spade that can be used as a double coaster or a small placemat. The main pattern in the download is for the large black spade in the photo, but a chart for the smaller yellow spade is also included. The download also includes notes about resizing the pattern, so you can make a spade as big or small as you want, and use as an ornament, a pet bed, or anything else you can think of. This pattern is harder to resize than the lacework heart and diamond patterns (also available in my Ravelry Store), but with some experience, it can be done.

NOTE: This pattern is NOT an upside-down version of my lacework heart pattern with a tail added. Both items are worked from the bottom upwards, hence the two patterns are different.
