The “LACEY” hat - wear your heart on your hat
This romantic stocking cap is knit in the round. Vertical lace panels alternate with columns of colorful hearts. An additional heart dangles from the top. The hearts are knit separately and sewn on. The optional picot edging is crocheted.
THE BASICS
• Pattern includes 6 sizes: Newborn / 3-6 months / 6-12 months / Toddler / Child / Adult
• Pattern is written in ENGLISH and uses standard U.S. knitting terms
• Instructions are for knitting in the round on circular and double pointed needles
• Gauge: 20 stitches = 4 inches (10 cm)
• Knitting skill level - EXPERIENCED
• Picot edging is crocheted (optional)

• Basic increases and decreases
• Knitting I-cord
• Basic crochet stitches for optional picot edging

• Approx. 100 to 200 yds (91 to 183 m) DK or light-worsted weight yarn depending on size made
• Approx. 20 yds (18 m) fingering weight yarn for hearts
• U.S. size 6 (4 mm) 12” or 16” circular needles or size needed to obtain gauge
• U.S. size 6 (4 mm) double pointed needles or size needed to obtain gauge
• U.S. size 2 (2.75 mm) straight needles for hearts
• U.S. size E (3.5 mm) crochet hook for picot edge (optional)
• Stitch markers
