Lacroix is a versatile design with which you will learn a basic construction for a straight sleeve sweater with many possibilities. You can knit it with different strands of mohair, mixing colours and playing with the number of strands to achieve different shades of transparency and create plays of colour throughout the entire sweater. In addition, it is a sweater that you can also knit in worsted yarn or with a combination of fingering and mohair. Your choice!

The final measurements of this sweater are approximate and calculated based on the gauge of the sample. The measures may vary if you play with a different number of strands or choose to do it with worsted yarn or with a double strand of fingering-mohair.

Intended ease

Recommended ease: Approx. 10-30 cm / 4-12” of positive ease.
My testers opted to add less than 10 cm / 4” slack to the sweater for the larger sizes. If you hesitate between two sizes, I recommend you knit the smaller one since the material tends to relent and has a beautiful drape.

Yarn

Amounts may vary because of the type of yarn, personal gauge, and any changes made to the pattern.

1075 (1184, 1302, 1445) (1571, 1688, 1814, 1982)* m / 1176 (1295, 1424, 1580) (1718, 1846, 1984, 2168) yds of silk-mohair yarn held double.

This yardage is approximate as it will depend on the number of threads you use.

Suggested yarn

This sweater is worked with a 6 mm US 10 needle, the same as a worsted weight yarn. However, mohair allows us to play with nuances of colour and transparency. Enjoy mixing different colours and combining one, two or three strands to give your sweater a different weight and create a unique piece.

8 (8, 8, 9) (10, 11, 11, 12) mini skeins of El Robledal de la Santa Silky Mohair, lace weight (20 g / 168 m; 0.70 oz / 22 yd; 72% Fine Kid Mohair and 28 % Silk - Various colours

Needles

Main fabric of the garment: 6 mm US 10 - 60 / 80 cm US 8/ 24 / 32” circular needles or the size of needle needed to obtain the correct gauge.
Sleeves: Use circular needles 6 mm US 10 - 20 cm US 8” or the size of needle needed to obtain the correct gauge.

Other notions

Tapestry needle, stitch markers, leftover yarn, or stitch holders.

Gauge

10 sts and 18 Rounds = 10 x 10 cm 4 x 4” in St st Pattern IN THE ROUND with bigger needles and after blocking.

Techniques:

Long-tail cast on.
Backward loop cast-on.
Jenny’s surprisingly stretchy bind off.
Magic Loop for the sleeves.
Twisted ribbing.

Lacroix es un diseño versátil con el que aprenderás una construcción básica para jersey de manga recta con muchas posibilidades. Puedes tejerlo con distintas hebras de mohair, mezclando colores y jugando con el número de hebras para darle distintos grados de transparencia y crear juegos de color a lo largo de todo el jersey. Las medidas finales de este jersey son aproximadas y están calculadas en base a la muestra de tensión. Si juegas con distinto número de hebras o eliges hacerlo con hilo worsted o con doble hebra de fingering-mohair es posible que las medidas varíen.

Holgura

Holgura recomendada: aprox. 10-30 cm / 4-12” de holgura positive.

Para las tallas más grandes, mis testers optaron por añadir menos de 10 cm / 4” holgura al jersey. Si dudas entre dos tallas, te recomiendo tejer la más pequeña ya que el material cede y tiene caída.

Hilo

Recuerda que estas cantidades son aproximadas y pueden variar debido a tu tensión, la aguja y el tipo de hilo que utilices o cualquier cambio que puedas hacer en el patrón.

Este metraje es aproximado ya que dependerá de la cantidad de hilos que utilices.*

Hilo recomendado

Este jersey se trabaja con aguja de 6 mm US 10 como si se tratase de un grosor worsted. Sin embargo, el mohair nos permite jugar con las sútiles mezclas de color y con la transparencia. Disfruta mezclando distintos colores y combinando uno, dos o tres cabos para dar diferentes espesores a tu jersey y crear una pieza totalmente única.

10 p y 18 vtas = 10 x 10 cm 4 x 4” en punto jersey EN CIRCULAR después bloquear.

Técnicas

Montaje de hebra larga (Long-tail cast on).
Montaje en bucle hacia atrás (backward loop cast-on).
Cierre sorprendentemente elástico de Jenny (Jenny ‘s surprisingly stretchy bind off).
