Lacuna
Lacuna refers to the air space which is found in cellular tissues of plants. The body of this shawl is much like a plant, which we view on a daily basis without the aid of a microscope. To us it appears whole and without gaps. However, once you examine a sliver of the plant using a microscope, the lacuna become visible creating a lace-like network of pockets.
Lacuna is knit from the top down. Once the desired width is reached the lace boarder is applied working side to side.
Requires between 375 and 400 yards of fingering weight. However, the pattern is also includes yarn percentages to allow for adjustment and maximizing of yarn usage to keep for having leftovers.
The edging pattern is provided in both written and charted.
