This lacy shawl works with any self-striping of ombre DK yarn, although solid and variegated yarns can work just as well. It could be created using a different yarn weight, but I would not recommend using a yarn heavier than worsted. Be sure to adjust hook size for different yarn weights. Hook should be at least 1 mm larger than what is usually recommended for the yarn.

The lacy filet effect creates a nice drape to the fabric of the shawl. The shawl can be sized for any wearer. Gauge is an estimate, and not of great importance.
