Lacy Evening Gloves
These super simple Lacy Evening Gloves are the perfect beginner project for anyone new to lace knitting. They are knitted in the flat then seamed together along the side, leaving an opening for the thumb. They are ideal for those slightly cooler summer evenings.
Yarn
These gloves are knitted in JW (jumperweight) yarn.
50g Graeff (Shetland black)
Needle size
3mm.
Tension
30 rows over lace pattern (after blocking) = 10 cm. The width will depend on how strongly you tease the piece when blocking.
It is always wise to do a swatch to establish your tension; adjust your needle size accordingly.
Size
Finished circumference: stretches to ca 25 cm; if you want a wider circumference, add pattern repeats as per need, bearing in mind that each pattern repeat is 10 sts.
Length: ca 31 cm. You can make them longer or shorter by adding or subtracting pattern repeats, bearing in mind that each pattern repeat is 12 rows.
Size can also be adjusted by using larger or smaller needles.
