Wrap little one in love with this lacy heirloom motif afghan. Perfect for a special occasion, baptismal or christening blanket. The motifs are crocheted together so there’s no need for seaming or sewing. The little squares work up so quick, making for a great mindless take along project to work on in the car, while waiting for the kids, etc.

Combine as many squares as you’d like for a size that’s perfect for your needs! The pretty decorative border can be used with whatever size blanket you choose to make. The pattern is written for 16-squares making a preemie or small newborn blanket about 22” x 22” with a medium 4 weight yarn. Try adding more motifs for a rectangular stroller or nap size, or a square or rectangular toddler or throw size.

Finished Sizes:
• Motif in Worsted/Medium weight yarn makes about a 4.5-inch square, finished 16-motif blanket about 22-inch square, finished 36-motif blanket about 32-inch square.
• Motif in Baby/Sport weight yarn makes about a 4-inch square, finished 16-motif blanket about 18-inch square, finished 36-motif blanket about 25-inch square.
