Lacy Lattice Cowl or Scarf
Made as either a cowl or scarf, the Lacy Lattice pattern is both elegant and fairly simple to make. Use any yarn and needles you choose, since the instructions are adaptable to any gauge.
The scarf is knit flat, and features a slipped stitch picot-like edging. The cowl is knit in the round, and is stretchy enough that no fasteners are needed. Both are trimmed with a variation on a slipped stitch ruffle.
Because the pattern is very simple and repeats every 4 rows (for the lattice) and every 2 rows (for the ruffle), it works up very quickly. The samples were made in worsted weight cashmere/silk blend yarn on size US 6 (4.oomm) needles, but this would look nice in anything from lace weight to super bulky.
Stitches Used:
K, P, K2tog, ssk, Ktbl, Ptbl, YO, Kfb
Materials:
- if using worsted weight, 180 yards (cowl) – 512 yards (60” scarf)
