Lacy Little Cables Patchwork Baby Blanket
The Lacy Little Cables Patchwork Baby Blanket is a generously sized worsted weight baby blanket.
Although it may look complicated, is quite easy if you have some experience with knits, purls, slipping stitches and yarn overs.
The blanket is worked in 3 vertical panels, which are seamed together along their side edges.
Each panel consists of Lacy Little Cable stitch squares, surrounded by garter stitch borders on all sides.
These Lacy Little Cables do not require cable needles.
Pattern includes clearly written instructions, as well as a schematic diagram for color placement; and useful information for making the blanket larger.
Making a larger blanket will require additional yarn.
Finished size, as written, is 27” x 32”.
Recommended materials include
780 yds worsted weight yarn (sample used Berroco Vintage yarn), divided as follows:
260 yds color A - Mochi (# 5101)
260 yds color B - Oats (# 5105)
260 yds color C -Calico (# 5172)
size 8 needles (straight or circular)
Recommended gauge is 4.5 sts per inch in stockinette stitch.
Required skills include casting on, knitting, purling, slipping a stitch, yarn over (increase), binding off, and basic seaming.
I hope you’ll enjoy knitting this blanket, and please post photos of your completed projects!
