Lacy Loops
This pattern has been designed to use every last scrap of those precious leftovers of laceweight or sock yarn. Easy to knit in the round, and requiring no seaming, the pattern is totally customisable dependent on the yarn you have and the style you want; make a long loop, wear it doubled, or make a comfy headband/earwarmer. Knit the back in any DK or aran weight yarn, and knit the lacy top piece in anything from lace to 4 ply. Choose complementary colours for a stylish piece, or contrast colours to make a statement.
As you can make any length/width, giving yardages is hard. For comparison:
The blue headband/short cowl:
is 44cm/17inches in circumference
is 6.5cm/2.5inches wide
used 42m/46yds of Sirdar Snuggly Baby Bamboo DK
used 40m/43yds of DROPS Lace
The black and pink cowl:
is 120cm/48inches in circumference
is 9cm/3.5inches wide
used 150m/165yds of Jarol Heritage DK
used 100m/110yds of Jaeger Matchmaker Merino 4 ply
You will also need a stitch marker, a sewing needle, and 4mm circular needles (40cm for a headband or short cowl, 60/80cm for a longer cowl).
