22 FEBRUARY 2011 CHRISTCHURCH EARTHQUAKE APPEAL

ALL PROCEEDS FROM THE SALE OF THIS PATTERN WILL BE DONATED TO EARTHQUAKE RELIEF CHRISTCHURCH, NEW ZEALAND

On 22 February 2011, just before 1 pm, Christchurch, a beautiful city in New Zealand, was devastated by a shallow 6.3 earthquake. Only less than 6 months ago they’d already experienced a 7.1 earthquake, and are still recovering from that. But this time, not only is the damage much greater, there are also many fatalities and many homes destroyed.

I’ll be donating the proceeds from this pattern (and all the others I have for sale) to help the people in Christchurch.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP!

We all love those little samples of yarn, but what to knit with them? This pattern is part of the ‘Outside the Box’ pattern collection made especially for yarn sampler boxes. The whole collection is available for 10 USD on Ravelry.

Combining lacy stitches with cables gives you this beautiful victorian style lacy neck warmer. Using only a small amount of DK wool, it’s perfect for one or two of your yarn samples.

This piece is knitted in three distinctive parts: the bottom edge, the main part and the side parts. However there is no sewing up to do, instead they have been added by picking up stitches from the edge.

Information included on how to adjust sizing of the pattern!
