This pattern is one that I created for a prayer shawl. It includes both written and charted directions, and provides an option for a very simple crochet edging.

Errata in Row 1 of written directions of Version 1.0 pattern:
Row 1 Should read as follows:
Slip first stitch purlwise, k3, * k2tog, k1, yo, k1, yo, k1, ssk * repeat ,* repeat between * * to final 4 stitiches, k4.

Current version of the pattern is correct.

Size adjustments: As printed in Version 1.3, the finished shawl size is 13.5 inches by 56 inches, or 17 inches by 64 inches.

This shawl can easily be made wider by adding to the cast-on in increments of 7 stitches. Each set of 7 stitches will add slightly less than 2 inches to the width of the shawl. More yarn will be needed to complete the project if one does this.
