The joy of this pattern is that it is simple, easy to remember, customizable, and perfect to bust your stash (new or scraps)! I call it the Ladder Cowl because of the “rungs” the spaces and double crochets the pattern makes. The rows make a great texture on either side so this cowl can be reversible.

You can use any size hook, any weight yarn, and you can customize this super simple pattern any way you like! Gauge is totally unimportant.

I used for the prototype Lion Brand’s Wool Ease (scraps), and eventually moved on to a Bulky weight yarn. Depending on how many stitches you start with, this cowl can be long and drape-y or short and snug!

If there are errors, issues, etc., please do not hesitate to contact me! This is my first written pattern, and there is sure to be a learning curve!
