Pattern Description from Faith, Hope, Love, Knitting: “Because socks are such a popular knitting project, knitters everywhere were knitting their favorite sock pattern in ‘liberty’ colors after September 11. I like to mix up hand-dyed colors using slipped stitches or solid colors, so I designed these socks to show the red, white, and blue with their best foot forward! The colors look pretty together but when knitting around a sock, they create their own pattern of swirls or stripes. To control the swirling, I added a solid and a simple slipped stitch, which adds more natural color to the design. It would be just as pretty to use navy or burgundy.”
