Here’s a fancy collar to wear two different ways: with the opening in back, or opening in front, to show off a treasured brooch. Either way, it adds an old-fashioned, feminine flair to a plain garment. For a really rich-girl look, make it in a mohair, cashmere, or angora blend. Don’t let the knots put you off; they’re lots easier to make than bobbles.

I think we could fairly call Lady Gossamer “steampunk.” She was inspired by a Victorian collar worked in 5-pointed lace.
