Lady Grey Lace Shrug
This shrug is a combination of traditional lace patterns, techniques, and the frequent need for a little something to cover the shoulders. It is versatile, practical, comfortable, and above all beautiful. You can layer it over a dress for a formal event, or pair it with a tank top and jeans for a girl’s night out.
This shrug is knit from a provisional cast on at the center back down to the cuff, eliminating the need to graft at the back. A traditional shawl edging technique is used for the bell shaped cuff. Tips for customizing the sizes are included.
The pattern includes charts and line-by-line instructions for the lace, schematics, and notes on alterations.
There are many yarns that would be excellent for this pattern. I have included suggestions. Any heavy sock weight yarn with natural elasticity would work well.
Sizes: (XS, S, M, L, XL)
Upper Arm Circumference: (8-9, 10-11, 12-13, 14-15, 16-17)“/ (20.5-23, 25.5-28, 30.5-33, 35.5-38, 40.5-43) cm
Cross Back (shoulder to shoulder): (14, 15, 16, 17, 17.5)”/ (35.5, 38, 40.5, 43, 44.5) cm
Yardage for each size: (450, 600, 750, 900, 1050) yds. This includes a bit for swatching, and differences in knitting.
Each size will fit a wide range, due to the stretchiness of the lace, and the ease of altering the length as you knit.
