Modeled after the CartoonNetwork’s Adventure Time character, the Lady Rainicorn scarf is knit back and forth for the body, then folded in half lengthwise for wet blocking into the characteristic rainbow arc.
The legs are knit back and forth for the shoulder and continued in I-cord style. The head is knit like a small top-down sock, beginning back and forth, changing to the round and utilizing short-rows for head shaping. Both head and legs use DPN needles five times smaller than the body needles in order to create a firmer fabric.
Natural fibers are recommended. Knitters using acrylic will be able to achieve some neck fitting with carefully placed seam stitches that draw up the fabric in the center of the scarf.
