This biased shawl has graduated panels of lace, creating a light and airy shawl, perfect for wearing on cool summer evenings or spring and autumn days.

One of my favourite flowers in our garden this summer has been a ‘Lady Stratheden’ Geum – I just love it’s cheerful and bright small, yellow blooms. The simple lace pattern featured in this shawl reminded me of these pretty flowers, hence the shawl’s name.

SIZING: Finished shawl measures 20”(51cm) x 49”(124cm)

TENSION: (before blocking) 20 stitches and 28 rows over 4”/10cm in stocking stitch on 4.5mm needles.

YARN: Approximately 350-380m/382-415yds of DK/light worsted weight yarn
I used 2 skeins of Elsebeth Lavold’s Silky Wool (175m/50g; 45% wool, 35% silk, 20% nylon) in the Eucalyptus colourway. It is a beautifully light, soft yarn, perfect for summer knitting, and creates a shawl with a lovely drape.

NEEDLES AND NOTIONS: 4.5mm needles or correct size to achieve tension (I prefer to use a 100cm circular needle for ease of accommodating stitches).
