I wanted to try my hand at making a roomier, lace bolero, perfect for transitional weather such as spring and autumn. When I came across a lace pattern called Ladybird Pattern in “The Haapsalu Shawl”, the name really appealed to me. Thus, the Ladybird Shawl was born!

I’ve only made it in size M, but if you’re confident at knitting, you could try your hand at sizing it up or down - you just have to make sure that your cast on stitches are equivalent to a multiple of 6, plus 6 stitches for the edges.

I didn’t knit with the written portion of the lace pattern (though I did transpose it from the lace chart), so if you spot any mistakes, please let me know.
