Ladybug Lovey (Security Blanket)
This pattern provides instructions to make a striking ladybug lovey (or security blanket), and the finished product makes the perfect gift for a baby or toddler!
The pattern calls for DK yarn in red and black, with a very small amount of white for the eyes. One skein (100 g) of each yarn is more than sufficient for this project. A 5.00 mm crochet hook is used for the lovey, and either a 5.00 mm or 4.00 mm crochet hook for the ladybug head and spots.
Gauge is not important for this pattern.
The satin ribbon legs are a nice ‘feely’ detail for babies to play with.
Additional materials required are:
- darning needle
- teddy filling
- 1⁄2 m black satin ribbon, approximately 15 mm in width
- craft/wood glue
- black thread
- sewing needle
