Laeta
To celebrate a year in their new Studio and Store, Knitcircus dyed this gorgeous rainbow gradient. I took my inspiration from these exuberant colors and designed a triangular shawl using a fun-to-knit lace that just flies off the needles. For additional interest and to make Laeta reversible, I added some textured stitches throughout the lace and a few sparkly beads along the border (165 6/0 4.00 mm or 5/0 4.50 mm seed beads, optional).
Laeta, meaning ‘happy’, requires only very basic stitches, has a simple four-stitch repeat, and is worked end-to-end with just one skein of fingering yarn, all of which makes this a quick project easy enough even for a novice lace knitter.
Note about the yardage - the original sample was knit with 550 yards of the larger, 600-yard skein of Knitcircus Greatest of Ease gradient. Thanks to the easy construction, this shawl can be knit with 400 to 600 yards of fingering or lace weight yarn.
Happy anniversary, Knitcircus :)
