Lake Ellyn is in the heart of Glen Ellyn, Illinois. It is a beautiful spot close to a fantastic yarn store.

This cowl is a fun and uncomplicated knit that is also fun and uncomplicated to wear. It just always hangs just right, nothing to fuss with or rearrange! It is a medium length cowl, about 40 to 42 inches in diameter and 10 inches wide. The size can easily be adjusted by casting on additional stitches, just cast on an even number.

This pattern can be adjusted to the amounts of each color that you have. Instructions are given for gradient sets, multi-yarn sets, or various lengths you have in your stash. The pattern includes directions for 4 colors, 5 colors and 9 colors.

The variations are endless and make knitting this cowl extra fun to knit.

Gauge is flexible, but aim for 5.5 to 6 stitches per inch before blocking, about 5 stitches per inch after a light blocking. No pinning needed.
Most knitters prefer using one needle size for the whole cowl. If your ribbing is quite loose, you could drop down one size on one or both borders.
