This is a pattern for a light weight wrap. It’s knit using heavy fingering weight yarn, making it ideal for a cool evening, or air conditioning. The shawl is comprised of a single cable lace stitch, that comes to us from Japan. The stitch itself is an very pretty faggotting stitchsurrounded by ornate cabling throughout the shawl. The cables give it an interest not usually found in this type of lightweight shawl .The final size of the shawl is 23 inches by 74 inches. The stitch is both charted only. There are also instructions for an optional crocheted edging contained within the pattern, should you want it edged. The lace itself is a true lace.

Skill Level: Intermediate (assuming a basic knowledge of cable-lace knitting)

The focal stitch is charted only.

The yarn used in the sample is Mrs. Crosby’s Hat Box yarn in Monkey Orchid.
