This sweater has a large neck opening which, while pretty, may not be ideal for everyone. Here is a simple modification for making the neckline smaller by adding a second repeat of the shirred panel:
CO 56 fewer sts (7 fewer in the 1st section, 14 fewer in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th sections, and 7 fewer in the 5th section.)
Now work the shirred panel (rows 1-19) TWO times. At this point you should have the correct number of sts to continue the pattern as written.

Named for the little town of Lambton, this
sweater is inspired by the lovely
empire-waisted gowns of the Regency
Period. It has a square neckline and a
lightly fitted bodice. Shirred panels knit
of laceweight yarn at the neckline, cuffs,
and waist create a soft, delicate look.
The sleeves are slightly puffed with a
small ruffle at the cuff. The skirt section
has a slip stitch pattern to add texture
and to create flattering vertical lines.
The sweater is a seamless, top-down
raglan making it quick and easy to knit
with no seams to finish. Short-rows are
added to the top of the sleeves for a
better fit and added fullness.
