Lamium Cowl
Lamium is a small cowl, knitted in the round using a two-colour stranded technique and feature rib edging in natural shades of pure wool, creating a snug loop with a bold geometric design, providing practicality, warmth and adding an interesting little touch to your outfit.
The stitch patterns are inspired by a sample of a leaf from a Dead Nettle plant (Lamium) that I viewed under my microscope and then turned first into a drawing and then into stitches. In turn I was inspired by the pioneering botanist Nehemiah Grew. In the late 1600s he was one of the first people to record and study the deceptively simple, rhythmic and organised beauty of plant cells. Lamium is designed to reflect those qualities and I hope that you find it a satisfying knit with a mix of manual dexterity and flow.
