Lantern blanket
The Lantern blanket pattern features an eye-catching design that works up effortlessly using only knit and purl stitches.
Pattern includes directions for six sizes:
• Bassinet baby blanket: 71 cm x 90 cm / 28 in. x 35.5 in.
• Cot baby blanket: 83 cm x 104 cm / 33 in. x 41 in.
• Small blanket: 94 cm x 118 cm / 37 in. x 46.5 in.
• Medium throw: 106 cm x 131 cm / 42 in. x 51.5 in.
• Large afghan: 117 cm x 145 cm / 46 in. x 57 in.
• XL afghan: 135 cm x 164 cm / 53 in. x 64.5 in.
SKILL LEVEL: beginner
SKILLS USED: cast on, knit and purl stitches, bind off
YARN: Aran yarn (weight 4) or other yarn meeting gauge requirements. The pattern can be used for any other yarn weight and needle size, but the finished size will vary. Solid yarn colour is recommended.
GAUGE: 18 stitches to 26 rows in 10x10cm (4x4’’) in stitch pattern or stockinette, blocked. Meeting the stated gauge exactly is not critical for a blanket, but always swatch to avoid surprises.
