A lacy crochet shawl design that’s a real showstopper or a discrete beauty depending on your yarn and color choice.

I’ve made this one both with Drops Kid silk yarn and with heavier weight yarn (Viking nordlys) and Catania. Use recommended hook size for the yarn you want. Heavier weight yarn leads to a bigger shawl. Don’t be afraid to try different styles and yarns, both fluffy and other :-)

Size and yarn
The pattern is one size, but the size vary depending on which yarn and hook you use. This is an example of how mine turned out. I used the white Drops Kid silk (75% mohair, 25% silk), 2 ply, lace-category yarn. It has a gauge of 23 stitches30 rows for 1010 cm, 25 grams per skein (approx. 210 m). For my shawl I used a 3.5 mm hook and needed about 2,5 skeins.

Blocking is important to enhance the pattern and make the shawl look it’s best. Size after blocking (with the white Drops Kid Silk mohair blend):

192 cm (base)64 cm (tip to base) or
75,5 inches (base)25 inches (tip to base).

Special feature
Make the first 5 rows a little tighter with more tension on the thread, or just go down a hook size for these rows. So if the yarn calls for a 3.5 mm hook, use a 3.0 mm for the first 5 rows.
