The western larch can be found in the valleys and lower slopes of BC’s Southern Interior. This large, handsome tree usually grows in mixed forests but can occasionally be found in pure groups of trees on the fire-blackened soil left after a severe wildfire. Its wood, one of the strongest in Western Canada, is often used for heavy construction and railways.

Larch is a top-down triangle shawl rich with texture. With its quick-to-memorize pattern, simple knits and purls flow through sections of seed, double-seed, and triple-seed stitch, resulting in a minimalist design that is cozy, modern, and easy to wear!

| YARDAGE REQUIREMENTS |

Worsted weight yarn: 660y/200m (300g) of a solid colour; OR 220y/200m (100g) each of three colours.

This shawl’s rich texture shows best with solid, tonal, or kettle-dyed colourways. Let your creativity guide you to choose between a solid or gradient, or choose to highlight one section with a pop of colour.

Suggested yarn: Malabrigo Rios (100% merino wool; plied; 210y/192m per 100g), or any worsted weight yarn of similar yardage and weight.
