Large Knot Forgotten Knit Owl
PLEASE NOTE: This is the old (larger) version of the Knot Forgotten Knit Owl, and is no longer available.
Spread love, hope, and a little knitted magic to a child who has lost everything.
The mission behind Knot Forgotten is to provide toys to displaced Syrian refugee children. So far, over 1200 toys have been donated by over 300 makers around the world. The message is one of love and joy, and to let each child know they are not forgotten.
Below are links to special knitting instructions you will need to know in order to complete the Knot Forgotten Knit Owl:
- Right Lifted Increase. Blog article by knotions.com
- How to Knit: Double Decrease (sl2, K1, P2sso). Youtube video by Pepperly (NOTE: remember to ignore the video and slip as if to purl!)
- Invisible Mattress Stitch Seam on Garter Stitch. Youtube video by Nancy Wynn
The entire pattern is worked flat on straight needles and then seamed afterwards. You will need a pair of 3.00mm needles and some spare DK yarn in 6 colours (although you can easily use fewer colours).
You will also need toy stuffing, less than 1m embroidery thread in black for the eyes, a wool needle, a spare needle or stitch holder, and some patience!
