Meet Larkspur

Ease into the flow with Larkspur, a thoughtfully designed fingering-weight cable sweater. With a carefully shaped boatneck and wide, relaxed sleeves, it balances structure and fluid drape, inviting you to lose yourself in its quiet handmade beauty.

Construction

Larkspur is worked flat from the top down, beginning with short rows to shape the neckline and shoulders for a tailored yet comfortable fit. The front flows into a stunning cable panel, while the back transitions into smooth stockinette. This juxtaposition of texture creates a sophisticated silhouette that’s effortless and polished.

After completing the body panels, the sides are joined using a clean mattress stitch for subtle structure. Sleeves are picked up around the armholes and worked in the round, with generous shaping for a relaxed drape and wide cuffs that create a romantic silhouette.

The boatneck, shaped with gentle short rows, rests comfortably and naturally, blending style with everyday comfort. Customize the neckline to your liking when finishing with a knitted-on i-cord—pick up more or fewer stitches to adjust the fit. Learn more about this technique in our custom fit video included with the pattern.

Yarn Recommendations

Larkspur invites you to let your favorite yarn take center stage. We chose Yarn Nouveau Yak Silk for its luscious drape and earthy “Faded Leaves” colorway; its shimmering tonality beautifully highlights the cables. A tonal or solid fingering-weight yarn in your favorite wool blend will showcase both texture and drape perfectly.

Sizing & Fit

Larkspur is designed for 6-12 inches of positive ease, creating a relaxed and flowing fit that feels both chic and comfortable. Choose a size based on your full bust measurement and your preferred amount of ease. For sizes 58” and above, we recommend using 6-8” of positive ease to ensure a good fit through the neckline and shoulders.

Choosing Your Size
