It has a real name now- “Lasagna”. It is loosely based on the knit pattern, “Ruffled”, and is an attempt to recreate a crocheted ruffled Jabot scarf from the Victorian Trading Company. I am currently on my second skein of Caron Simply Soft, and I think 2 skeins will be enough.
