The Harvest Shawl is the outcome of our “perfect Eyelet” experiment (see below) and is the perfect introduction to Subtle Decreases. The search for a well-defined eyelet that still sat smoothly on the knit fabric. The same subtle eyelet base is used in the dramatic ruffle but is transformed by the Double Eyelet Increase.

More on Yarn, Gauge and Yardage

• The shawl can be worked in almost any gauge and the pattern includes multiple cast on options.
• The shawl uses about 400 yards of main and 200 yards of lace weight yarn for the ruffle. We saved a few yards of main yarn to bind off the ruffle for added visual impact.
• Other recommended yarns include Malabrigo Silky Merino or Debbie Bliss Andes.
