A simple lattice cable with a twisted rib edging gives this set a lot of texture. The fingerless mitts are a women’s small/medium but can be made to fit a more slender hand by using a smaller needle on the cuff and end ribbing. The headband can be made with the decorative button option pictured (no graft - seamed on the wrong side) or grafted for a more traditional style. The set was knit using 1 skein of Cascade Superwash 220. My best guess is that the Mitts used slightly more than half the skein.

Technical skills needed: knitting in the round, cabling and twisted stitches. Provisional cast on and grafting skills are optional.

The cable patterns are Charted only. There are written instructions for the ribbing and thumb gusset increases.

This was a quick project I did for my summer knitting to use up some odd skeins of yarn and stock pile some Christmas gifts. Enjoy!

Addendum. : For the mitts an additional repeat of the pattern can easily be added if you want more length.Just be sure to end on row 6 of the fourth repeat. The yarn quantity should be sufficient.
