This versatile and elegant crocheted cowl or circle scarf pattern is available for free here: http://grannysquaredontcare.wordpress.com/2014/05/14/lattice-cowl-with-ribbon/

The pattern comes with step-by-step instructions and accompanying photos in a PDF file.

With this pattern, you can try out an endless number of colour combinations, mixing up the colour of the yarn and the ribbon. Try a bolder look with a darker yarn and white ribbon, or a softer look with similarly coloured yarn and ribbon. You can even change up the look of your crocheted cowl or scarf by switching out the ribbon at any time, and trying out a shorter or longer bow, depending on your desired look.

We’d highly recommend trying out this pattern with Loops and Threads’ Select Wool super bulky yarn. It’s a soft, acrylic and wool blend, with a nice sheen to it that works well with the soft look of the ribbon. We found this at Michael’s and it only takes one 124 yard ball for the cowl, and double for the longer circle scarf that wraps twice.

A great gift idea. Thanks for visiting!
