I started off working a lattice pattern in a snood (a long cowl that can be worn over the head and neck) then realized it could be easily adapted into a hat. Result - the hat got finished first.

The four row pattern repeat makes this a Potato Chip pattern (“just one more row”) and can easily be finished in a day or two. I chose the warmer colour palette for the hat because I was working the snood in a stained glass colourway with black - which is stunning - but I didn’t want people to be stuck in a rut and ONLY choose vibrant colour combinations when working this pattern.

FYI - the second picture shows the truest colour of the hat.

This pattern can be easily adapted for size by changing the number of stitches between slipped stitches or by altering the number of repeats in a row. Just be sure you have enough yarn to complete your project if you make it larger in any way.

I used about 95m of the Rialto dk and 60m of the Unforgettable to get a slightly slouchy hat.
