Designed originally for a local musician, the Laughing Minstral hat has a wonderful lace pattern on the crown. In addition, it’s truly a “one size fits all” as it has a drawstring that allows the wearer to adjust to their head size. This construction also lets you use yarns that have no memory or stretch, like cotton!

We used 3 skeins of Baby Cashmerino in the original design.

It’s also been done with 2 skeins of Merino Mia.

We also did it with one skein of Hat Box, but the yardage is close. You could run out with only one skein of Hat Box so you may want to consider the “insurance skein”. After all, who doesn’t want more yarn? The color of Hat Box that’s pictured (Blue multi color) is our custom color available only from us, called “Cambria Cool”.

We consider this an intermediate pattern.
