Laurel Wreath Cable Scarf
Description:
This scarf or shawl design uses post-stitches to make a Laurel Wreath around the neck or torso. The leaf pattern is bordered by two cable motifs. This design can be worn as a large scarf (i.e. super scarf) around the neck or as a shawl around the shoulders.
In general, a Laurel Wreath originated in ancient Greece and was a symbol of accomplishment, and distinction. It is worn by graduates, awardees, and victors alike.
The level of expertise required is about intermediate, you should have experience with increases and decreases, sc, dc, post-stitches, and cable stitches. Make sure to check the stitch descriptions for extended stitch information (particularly for the sc stitch).
The pattern includes a written pattern for the scarf/shawl and a stitch diagram. Video tutorials for the two cable stitches are also included (links below).
