Laurentian Sweater

The Laurentian Sweater uses a modified version of the flowy leaf motif from the Laurentian Shawl and incorporates it into a puffy, dramatic sleeve. This is an extra roomy sweater that is perfect for the cool fall, winter, and spring temperatures. It can totally be dressed up or down to suit the occasion.
This is an intermediate level pattern. The pattern is written in standard US crochet terms.

Sizing
This pattern is written in 9 sizes (XS-5X) with 6” to 8” (15 to 20 cm) of positive ease, based on the bust.
Size: XS (S, M, L, XL) {2X, 3X, 4X, 5X}
Bust of top: 36” (40”, 44”, 48”, 52”) {56”, 60”, 64”, 68”} / 90 cm (100 cm, 110 cm, 120 cm, 130 cm) {140 cm, 150 cm, 160 cm, 170 cm}
Yarn and Yardage
This pattern uses DK weight yarn. While I used a Cascade Ultra Pima (a cotton yarn), testers used a variety of different fibers such as acrylic, wool blends, and bamboo (eg, Caron Skinny Cakes, Bernat Softee Baby, Lion Brand Truboo and Coboo, Yarnbee Caterina, Bambootiful, and 44th street, Stylecraft Highland Heathers). Since this pattern uses a lot of yarn and can be heavy, I would recommend a yarn that does not stretch too much.
Size: XS (S, M, L, XL) {2X, 3X, 4X, 5X}
up to 1590 (1829, 2053, 2304, 2580) {2837, 3098, 3388, 3682} yards / 1454 (1672, 1877, 2107, 2359) {2594, 2388, 3098, 3367} m
(this is the estimated maximum yardage, many used less than this though)
Note: The pattern has been tested, except for the following sizes: 4X. These sizes have been included based on estimated measurements from Crafty Yarn Council standards and tester feedback.
