The Laurina Shawl is a contemporary asymmetric triangular shawl featuring a variation of a traditional Shetland stitch. It’s worked from a few garter stitches and gradually grows into a triangle, then flows into the lace section. The stitches form waves which are pulled into points during blocking to make a delicate edging.

The pattern comprises basic lace stitches (yarn overs with corresponding decreases) as well as simple knits and purls and would be an excellent introduction to lace knitting or a relaxing project for a more experienced lace knitter. The stitch pattern is easily memorised and is both written and charted.

The sample is knitted using Malabrigo Sock yarn shade Reflecting Pool and used 2 skeins.
