Accessibility Statements
Low Vision Accessible: There is a version of the pattern that is accessible to individuals who are print challenged. It is written in 22 to 56 point sans serif font (Arial) in all black text on white background. It has no italics. All of the directions are fully written out. There are three files for the LVA pattern (one for infant sizes, one for youth sizes, and one for adult sizes) to make identifying your size easier.
Screen Reader Accessible: There is a version of the pattern that is screen reader accessible. It has been formatted, reviewed, and tested to work with a screen reader. The pattern was reviewed by Renee Van Hoy aka momcook to ensure it meets accessibility standards. There are no charts or tables in this version of the pattern. There are no abbreviations used in this version of the pattern. Everything is clearly written out in the text of the pattern. There are three files for the SRA pattern (one for infant sizes, one for youth sizes, and one for adult sizes) to make identifying your size easier.
Side Note --> If you don’t use a screen reader but just want a minimalist pattern layout, the SRA version may be the one for you!
Colour Blind Accessible: There is not a version of this pattern dedicated to colour blind accessibility. The main version of the pattern is primarily black text on white background; however, there is some information (abbreviations, materials, notes, etc.) that are black text on blocks of colour (shades of orange and pink). If you know that this will be a challenge for you to view, I recommend using the printer version of the pattern or the SRA version. Both of these are entirely black text on white background.
