Lavender and lace just seems to go together, from little lavender sachets with lace trim to cross stitch patterns and pillows. Well it’s time for crochet to have a turn at lavender and lace as it’s so pretty!

This pattern is intermediate level for those who have done mosaic crochet before. There is some carried yarn in 2 designs and a detailed border with a video link to demonstrate the join. The pattern is written for mosaic overlay crochet.

The pattern is available in both US and UK terminology. It measures 90 x 115cm (35 ½ x 45 ¼”) using the yarn and hooks noted above. It includes information about how to make larger blankets. Any yarn can be used for this pattern. Of course, the size will vary depending on yarn used, hook size and tension.

The pattern contains written instructions as well as charts with Xs and includes repeats marked for left-handed crocheters. There are 7 designs in total and 5 of them have stitch repeats of 24 which are common to a lot of other patterns, so you can mix and match if you wish.

When choosing yarn, it is important to choose contrasting colours so the pattern stands out.
