This is a very simple headband design, which can be easily worked as a first cable project as the cable pattern is worked in an 8 row repeat.

You can wear it casually or more formally depending on your choice of yarn. It would make a great gift using up oddments of yarn leftover from larger projects!

Customise it!
For a flatter, tighter cabled headband, work the pattern for the first 6 rows only.

For more advanced knitters you can easily customise the pattern by adapting the centre 6 cable stitches to another cable or lace pattern as desired.
